Welcome!

When we told people we were packing up our suburban life near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and moving to Woodville, Mississippi, we were met with blank stares, puzzled looks and, eventually, the question “Why?'“ This blog documents our adventures and answers to that “Why” each day we spend in our rural community.

While we love our Woodville dining options, sometimes we like to go for a drive. Woodville is conveniently located 20 minutes north of St. Francisville and 30 minutes south of Natchez on Highway 61.

Tonight we headed to Natchez to try a newly opened restaurant, but the wait for a table was more than our stomachs could bear. We opted to try lil Italia instead, a place we’d seen a friend post about a couple of times.

Don’t let the dimly lit exterior of the building fool you. This is a cozy little eatery with plenty of options. Misty was a perfect server, and the red sauce was incredible! It rivals the sauce served at my favorite Italian restaurant in Baton Rouge. The flatbread was good, but the ravioli was a delectable mound of cheesy goodness lightly coated in red and white sauce! Check them out if you’re in Natchez.
