Welcome!

When we told people we were packing up our suburban life near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and moving to Woodville, Mississippi, we were met with blank stares, puzzled looks and, eventually, the question “Why?'“ This blog documents our adventures and answers to that “Why” each day we spend in our rural community.

Overflow Flowers and Gifts

I started following Overflow Flowers and Gifts’ Facebook page several months ago. I had even seen the shop on my way to my aunt’s house, but I had no idea who owned it until I “met” her yesterday. Owner Angelia Davis just happens to be one of my favorite ladies at the Orchard Cafe. I went in for a late lunch, and she mentioned that she owned a gift shop. When she told me the name of it, I started laughing—“I’ve been following your page for a while. Small world!”

After returning home, I browsed her page again. Just that morning I had wondered who I was going to call for a funeral arrangement for this weekend. I immediately messaged Angie, and she told me to come out and see what she had. So many pretty arrangements, but I finally settled on this beautiful sunshine floral cross. It’s for a woman very dear to me who would love the flowers and that I supported a local, Christian businesswoman.

Check out Overflow Flowers and Gifts for flower arrangements, Mother’s Day gifts, Teacher Appreciation Gifts, Valentine’s Day gifts, funeral pieces, and more.
