Welcome!

When we told people we were packing up our suburban life near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and moving to Woodville, Mississippi, we were met with blank stares, puzzled looks and, eventually, the question “Why?'“ This blog documents our adventures and answers to that “Why” each day we spend in our rural community.

Upcoming Event Spotlight - Granny’s Kitchen

In memory of the late Gladys Tolliver, her children and grandchildren will be providing Thanksgiving dinner on November 25 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm for those in our community who may not otherwise be able to afford a meal.

Hosted at 812 Main Street (All Occasions), Granny’s Kitchen will be “an extravagant, sit-down, decorated event that is open to everyone. Upon request, plates will be provided to the elderly in the community,” said grandson Woodrow Price. He went on to say:

“I want the community to remember my grandmother as a servant with a heart for children and humanity.”

Sponsorship is welcomed to help purchase turkeys and hams, and sponsors’ names will be displayed at the event. Contact Mr. Price at 601-642-7190 to help Ms. Tolliver’s family carry on her legacy - “Loving you is like food to my soul.”
